Families raising children are guided by the proximity to schools when looking to buy a home. 

In our area, an individual property may be located in one of three school districts:

Victoria School District 61.  This includes the municipalities of Victoria, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, View Royal, and parts of Saanich.  For further information, see https://www.sd61.bc.ca/
 
Saanich School District 63.   It covers the area north of Victoria on the Saanich Peninsula. This includes the Municipalities of Saanich, Central Saanich, North Saanich, and the township Sidney. 

In Saanich, an individual property may be located in School District 63 or in School District 61.  The School District 63 website contains a facility to identify which schools serve individual properties in that school district.  For further information, see http://www.sd63.bc.ca/ 
 
Sooke School District 62. It includes the suburbs of Victoria known as the Western Communities (or WestShore) as well as the mostly rural areas around the sea-side villages of Sooke and Port Renfrew. The District's Victoria suburbs include the municipalities of Colwood, Highlands, Langford, and Metchosin.  For further information see http://www.sd62.bc.ca/
